Black and white has never seemed better. Thank you Thom Yorke.
Can’t take this particularly striking image out of mind. Hedi Slimane’s “Boy Under a Palm Tree”, taken at Coachella is one of my favorite images from his coffee table book.
A friend played this song at work today, which made me revisit this video as soon as I got home. The video consists of outtakes from a 1983 documentary, Punks, which follows a punk movement in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Besides loving Twin Shadows’ “Castles in the Snow”, I can’t help but admire the earnestness of these boys and the effort they put into depicting a look, creating a persona, and telling a story, ultimately through style.
Cut Copy’s “Need You Now.”
-You have to give everything.
-This is what I’m doing… Everytime we do it it’s a new world. I live again. Love is implicit in every connection. It should be. Thus when absent it makes us insane. It breaks our equilibrium and we have to flounder for reasons. When we pass by another person without telling them we love them it’s cruel and wrong and we all know this. Wel live in a constate state of denial and imbalance.
-Well, I wouldn’t go so far-
-Everyone must embrace us.
-They have embraced us.
